About Studio 1825

At Studio 1825, we love to preserve the big and small moments and memories of life in all of its beautiful, active, messy, unscripted, genuine glory.

We are a documentary family photography studio, which means that during a session nothing is posed, directed, artificially lighted or filtered. Instead, we rely on natural lighting, beautiful angles, and our artistic eye to capture in-the-moment photos of you and your loved ones.

Our services include a wide variety of family photography session options that can document everything from a full day in the life of your family to a special event in your family’s life — such as the first day of school, a birthday celebration or a visit with grandparents — to maternity and newborn photos that will capture the details of this special time in your family’s life.

We also work with non-profits, sororities and fraternities, and event organizers to document their stories and create fine photography that can serve as an essential marketing tool or commemorative piece for their members or supporters. 

Studio 1825 serves North and Central Mississippi, Memphis, Tennessee, and Asheville, North Carolina.

ABOUT DOCUMENTARY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

Documentary family photography is a style of photography that is becoming more and more popular around the country as a way to preserve the story of your family as it is right now. During documentary family photography sessions nothing is posed, directed, artificially lighted or filtered. Instead, it relies on natural moments that are beautifully and artistically photographed. 

A Truly Unique Experience

You are the only person like you. Your story (or the story of your family/loved ones) is unique, dynamic, and detailed in ways that only exist in one combination: with you! My goal with each session is to see the different elements that make you who you are, and then allow those to create an experience that you can look back on and cherish. Every session with me is different because everyone who finds themselves in front of my camera has a different story to tell.

Our smallest moments sometimes tell our stories most vividly. Whatever stage of life you are in, whatever your small moments are today, these fleeting, important moments deserve to be documented so that you can remember all of the emotions, joy, love, and care that this phase of life offers you.

Photographing your unscripted, honest moments means that you don’t have to worry about posing, flashing lights, and fake smiles in a session with me.  Authentic, real-life moments happen naturally when you are enjoying your family/loved ones to the fullest. I work with each client to find the activities they enjoy most so that I can capture the most genuine emotions possible.

Relationship building is at the heart of my photography. I seek to create images that capture the raw emotion and beauty of your real relationships. In the process, I seek to build lasting friendships with each of my clients so that I may more effectively tell your story.  Creating images that deepen trust between you and your loved ones (and also between you and me as your photographer) is a large part of what drives me as an artist.
